Get-Together Party
On Monday evening, after the first
workshop day, a Get-Together Party will
be the first major social happening. Ample of tasty delicacies will await you, and a glas, or more, of excellent wine (among
other beverages). The party is planned to take place at the Wegener Center
for Climate and Global Change, in its beautiful garden (great place to work and party!).
Excursion and Dinner
In the middle of the week (Wed afternoon) we invite you to a bus trip into a beautiful
country-side and will show you round a few spots in Eastern Styria only about one hour from Graz. We start with
a special guided tour into the secrets of chocolate making (and
tasting) by now world-renowned chocolatier chef Sepp Zotter and his team
(zotter chocolates). From that we move on to old
Kornberg Castle,
founded in medieval times back 1284,
where we first enjoy its cultural highlights and then feast over a genuine knight's meal, fully in
in the style of such sumptuous banquets centuries ago (tasty and true fun!).
In Graz
Besides the above events, it is certain that the appeal of the large
variety of restaurants and cafes in the workshop (University Campus) and
downtown area will invite each one of us to organize or join ad hoc
further informal scientific-social-or-whatever events during lunch breaks
and in the evenings.

and a special hint...
...if you are already in Graz on Sunday, why not
join a guided City Tour? Every Sunday at 14:30 there is the chance to find out more about
the beauty and charme of Graz with a professional guided tour
(different languages; meeting point Tourist Information Herrengasse downtown). Experience the
European Cultural Capital 2003. Meet history
and future.
Explore the city′s narrow lanes and picturesque courtyards with Gothic,
Renaissance, Baroque, modern architecture...and you are in it, in the center of
one of Europe′s best-preserved cities with an unique blend of centuries of
tradition and modern way of life. |
