Basic Information

Proceedings will be prepared in form of a high-quality Proceedings Book published by Springer Verlag. The book will contain the contributions to the workshop in form of concise written papers (invited papers 8-14 pages, contributed papers 6-10 pages; page size is "book size", not DIN-A4/Letter size). As a reference see the OPAC-2 Proceedings Book, which was released by Springer in June 2006. Each paper gets a digital object identifier (DOI) and is available online at Springer.

Presenters are required to supply written versions of papers within 8 weeks after the workshop. All papers are peer-reviewed by Scientific Programme Committee (SPC) members and participants in the workshop in order to coherently ensure high quality of the full book contents. Availability of the ready book is foreseen within a year after the workshop. Andrea Steiner, Gottfried Kirchengast, Ulrich Foelsche, and Barbara Pirscher will act as editors.

The Proceedings Book is available for all workshop participants free of additional charge since it is already included in the registration fee.

Information on paper preparation and upload

As noted above, papers should comprise 8 to 14 pages (invited papers) or 6 to 10 pages (contributed papers), respectively. According to Springer's prescribed layout, pages are "book sized", i.e., comprise less contents per page than standard DIN-A4/Letter size.

Each paper shall be written carefully following Springer's layout instructions. Springer provides convenient templates for both Word and LaTeX. You can choose either of these two based on your personal preference. Note that figures are printed black&white throughout except if you are willing to pay several hundred Euros per page containing color (information from Springer). If not opting for color figures, thus please make sure that color figures, if included, reproduce well also in b/w printing. Furthermore, as Springer may later ask to provide complex figures as separate files, please keep your figures available as .tif or .eps files.

You can download the relevant template files here, please only use these templates:
Word users please use the T1-book.dot and read the pdf instructions carefully. Copy the T1-book.dot in a local directory of your choice, open it by doubleclick and safe it as a doc file. Questions on the use of the templates or on related issues should be addressed to Barbara Pirscher (LaTeX), Andrea Steiner (Word) or Ulrich Foelsche (Word).

If you have your paper ready (excellent!), please stow the relevant file(s) into a compressed archive file (.zip or .tar.gz or .tgz or .gz file) and proceed to upload it right now. Please upload your paper by November 16, 2007, at the very latest, in order to avoid risk that it is not included in the book. We will stay in contact with you on the next steps (see time schedule above).

Thanks a lot for your important contribution to the success of OPAC-3 and its Proceedings Book!
